Announcing VeraSage Events & a Podcast

We are excited to announce that the VeraSage Institute is holding three events immediately following the AICPA’s Practitioners Symposium and TECH+ Conference on June 13, 14 and 15 at the Aria hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

The first event, Meet VeraSage 2012, will be held on Wednesday, June 13 from 2 to 6PM. It will feature openings from Paul Dunn and Ron Baker, a session with Kennedy and Coe’s managing partner Kurt Siemers, a panel of VeraSage Trailblazer firms, and a live THRIVEcast featuring Mark Koziel and Tom Hood. This is a free event open to anyone.

If that is not enough, we have a second event, VeraSage in Vegas, which will run from 7:30am to 5:30pm on Thursday, June 14. The morning will feature five VeraSage Fellows and Founders:

The afternoon will be dedicated to dynamic, interactive workshops that drill down into the content taught in the morning. You’ll interact with dozens of VeraSage Fellows and Friends who are trailblazers with experience in these core areas. You’ll take away scores of practical ideas you can implement today and into the future. The price for this event is $1,200. And, of course, the value is guaranteed.

The third event, not open to the public is a meeting of VeraSage Fellows and Friends. This is similar to the meeting that produced our terrific series of DETalks. Sorry, but unless you are a Fellow or trailblazer (by invitation only) you can’t come to the live event, but look for the posting of the DETalks after the event.

To help kickoff and promote this Michelle Golden, who is organizing this event for the Institute, chatted with me about the event for our latest installment of the nascent VeraSage Podcast.

In addition, she talked about her first encounter with VeraSage Founder Ron Baker. This meeting was by chance photographed and appears at left.

On Subscription Pricing and Being a Firm of the Future

On April 4th, Ron Baker and I did a webinar for Sage Partners entitled Subscription Pricing on the Journey to Becoming a Firm of the Future.

If you were unable to attend or would like to review what was shared, you can view a recording of the session. This webcast is part of the new Sage Transformation Journey Webcast Series. In these sessions, myself and other members of the Sage Partner Advantage team present relevant and timely information on how to develop the business practice of selling subscription pricing and improving the customer experience.

Thank you to those of you who attended the April 4 webcast session. If you were unable to attend or would like to review what was shared, you can view a recording of the session.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a Firm of the Future, please register for the full two-day Firm of the Future Symposium. The next symposium is being held April 24-25 in Southern California!

In addition to the Irvine dates we also have upcoming Symposia in  Vancouver, May 23-24 and Boston July 17-18.

Click here to download the agenda for this event.

Sage partners can register for any of these events today at www.sage.com/partners. Once you login, select Academies & Workshops an then Mid-Market ERP.

If you are not a Sage partner and would like to attend, please contact me or PartnerPrograms@Sage.com.

Firm of the Future Down Under

Thanks to our senior fellow, John Chisholm, and many of our friends Down Under—Jessica Hadley, Matthew Tol and the entire Team at mta optima, Matthew Burgess, Michael Stewart, Michael Bradley, Toby Jenkins, Steve Major, Jenny Watson, and others I’m not leaving out intentionally—we’ll be holding three Firm of the Fuutre symposiums throughout Australia.

You can learn more about the program, sponsorship opportunities, cities and dates at the Firm of the Future Website.

Thanks to everyone for their hard in putting this tour on. It’s going to be great fun!

Ed and Ron Presenting at Professional Pricing Society

Thrilled to announce that Ed Kless and I will be presenting at the 23rd ANNUAL SPRING PRICING WORKSHOPS & CONFERENCE, at the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel, in Chicago, IL.

The conference runs from May 8th—May 11th, 2012, and our all-day workshop will be held on May 9th.

We’re excited about this program since we will be discussing the Austrian economics approach to pricing, competitive analysis, and human action.

If you plan on attending the PPS conference, please stop by and say hello.

If you’ve never attended a PPS conference in the past, we highly recommend. It’s the best pricing education in the world.

Sole Proprietor’s Retreat

Dan Morris and I will be conducting the Sole Proprietor’s Retreat this December 9-10 for the California CPA Education Foundation. This 1.5 day program was designed as a way to give sole props the opportunity to have a retreat with their peers, since they don’t have partners.

It was a predecessor program to the Firm of the Future Symposium, but designed specifically for sole props and all the issues they face.

Ric Payne has agreed to offer a 12-month membership to the Principa Alliance, which provides access to its Practice System (a $1,295 value).

If anyone is interested, don’t hesitate to contact me, or Dan. We always limit the participation to 7-12 to make the group more intimate.

Also, if you could help spread the word that would be much appreciated.

Sage Firm of the Future Symposium–New Dates Announced

I am thrilled to announce that Ron Baker and I will be conducting four Sage Firm of the Future Symposia in 2012. The dates are:

  • March 21-22 in Toronto, ON
  • April 24-25 in Irvine, CA
  • May 23-24 in Vancouver, BC
  • July 17-18 in Boston, MA

The symposium will feature Ron and myself and is dedicated to the possibility that a professional organization can be run more effectively when it becomes a knowledge firm rather than a service firm. Creating such an organization is hard work and not for everyone as it requires partners to think differently than they have in the past about what it is that they do.

If you are interested visit sageu.com, and navigate to Academies and Bootcamps > Mid Market ERP. Not a Sage partner, but still want to attend? Email me and I can get you registered. The price is $2,500 per person and comes with a 100 percent money-back guarantee.

Firm of the Future for Media and Analysts

Yesterday, I delivered a four-hour session on the Firm of the Future for IT industry media and analysts at the behest of Melody Chalaban on Sage North America’s media relations team. I want first to thank her for the opportunity and organization of the event.

imageSecond, I want to thank Sage Partners and Firms of the Future, John Shaver from Aries Technology Group, creators of Bob’s Barbecue, Keith Greeno of Asyma Systems, and Peter Wolf from Azamba Consulting. (As you can see I am through the A’s with regard to flipping firms.) These three gentleman did an outstanding job of explaining how they have implemented the ideas that I only speak (some might say blather on) about.

Third, a shout out to Ron Baker whose books The Firm of the Future and Implementing Value Pricing are the basis for this material.

For your viewing pleasure here are the slides and for your listening pleasure a link to audio from the second half of the of the call. Unfortunately, the dog (i.e., my Windows PC) ate the first half of the audio.
