More Evidence Against the Billable Hour

Another hat tip to Stephanie West Allen for sending me this post by Allison Wolf at The Lawyer Coach Blog: An unsatisfied client speaks out.I wish her commute partner, Tom, would contact Chris Marston over at Exemplar Law Partners, where he would always receive a fixed price in advance of any work being performed. If you read Tom's four "candid comments" he's not asking for anything unreasonable. He's simply asking for certainty in price, and efficacious legal advice. Why don't lawyers understand this? It's how they purchase everything in their own lives. Is this really that hard to grasp? I suppose it is, since the billable hour is not based on empirical evidence, but rather is entrenched dogma.
