Net 100,000 Leave California Each Year

According to the July 11-17th issue of The Economist (Survey on Texas), 100,000 more people leave California than move there each year. One interesting statistic: The price of a one-way self-drive van is three times more from Los Angeles to Houston as the other way around.Good thing U-Haul doesn't price by the hour. Each trip takes the same amount of time. This is the problem with the billable hour: it ignores, completely, customer-perceived value.Just another example, among the millions, of price discrimination in action.Charging different customers different prices not based on cost to serve is ubiquitous, except in professional firms.
